Hendrix Forensic Psychology provides comprehensive forensic psychological evaluations and consultation services for criminal and civil legal matters. Evaluations are conducted with methodological rigor, cultural responsiveness, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.

Dr. Hendrix is currently an approved provider on the Los Angeles County Expert Witness Panel, offering court-ordered and attorney-retained forensic evaluation services.

Forensic Psychological Evaluations

Mental Health Diversion Evaluations (PC 1001.36)

Specialized assessments to determine eligibility and suitability for mental health diversion. These evaluations include diagnostic clarification, analysis of the relationship between mental illness and the alleged offense, assessment of treatment responsiveness, and evaluation of risk factors and protective factors relevant to court decision-making.

Penal Code 730 Evaluations

Comprehensive court-appointed diagnostic evaluations conducted pursuant to Penal Code §730. These assessments address specific referral questions posed by the court and may include diagnostic clarification, psychological functioning, treatment needs, and risk-related considerations.

Mitigation Evaluations

Pre-sentencing and mitigation-focused evaluations that examine developmental history, trauma exposure, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), mental health conditions, neurocognitive functioning, substance use disorders, and psychosocial factors relevant to sentencing considerations.

Youthful Offender Evaluations

Developmentally informed assessments that examine adolescent brain development, psychosocial maturity, trauma history, environmental influences, and rehabilitative potential. These evaluations provide courts with context regarding youth-related factors and capacity for change.

Cognitive & Psychological Testing

Hendrix Forensic Psychology offers comprehensive cognitive and psychological testing batteries to support diagnostic clarity and forensic opinions. Testing may include:

  • Intellectual functioning (e.g., WAIS-5)

  • Academic achievement testing

  • Memory and executive functioning measures

  • Personality assessment

  • Symptom validity and performance validity testing

  • Risk assessment instruments

Testing batteries are tailored to the specific referral question and may be incorporated into forensic reports or provided as standalone diagnostic evaluations.

Consultation & Expert Testimony

In addition to written reports, Dr. Hendrix provides expert consultation and courtroom testimony. Reports are structured to assist judges and attorneys in understanding complex psychological issues in a clear, organized, and legally relevant manner.
